In-Person Parent Observation Week is back! Parent Observation Week will be held Wednesday, December 8th - Tuesday, December 14th as originally published.
Parents will be invited in to watch the LAST 10 MINUTES of each of their dancer’s classes during this special week. To help us reduce capacity in classrooms, we ask that each dancer have no more than 2 audience members per class. Parents are welcome to take pictures and videos while in the classroom to share with additional family members.
The Christmas Cookie Social is our informal fundraising show to close out the first semester of classes. Approximately one third of our students are involved each year and are selected from each age group of our Children’s Classes. Proceeds from this event are used to send upper level dancers to Dance Revolution which is a Christian-based youth dance convention - more details on this below!
If your dancer’s class isn’t performing this year, this is still a fun show for younger dancers to attend and get excited about taking the stage for our Spring Recital. In order to have ample, socially distanced seating, we will be holding these performances at First Free Church in Onalaska.
Tickets are available for purchase via Eventbrite, using the links below:
In past years we have had the privilege of bringing a bus full of dancers (8th grade and up) to Dallas, TX to attend Dance Revolution. Miss Misty provides scholarships (with the help of Christmas Cookie Social proceeds) for dancers to attend the convention.
This year, after much prayer and consideration, we have made the decision to postpone our Dallas trip for another year and instead attend Dance Revolution in Chicago. At this time, we do not feel that a 16-hour bus trip and shared hotel/living spaces are in the best interest of the dancers and teachers. Miss Misty will still be faithfully providing scholarships for dancers to attend the convention in Chicago this year, but transportation and hotel reservations will be on your own. We will handle the convention registration process as usual and will be sending a team of teachers (based on the number of dancers who register) to send with your dancers.
All you need to do is to sign up! We would appreciate all accepted applicants to help volunteer where needed at this year's Christmas Cookie Social Performances (December 15-21). Details below!

As a reminder, be sure to label all of your dancer’s belongings with their name as everyone at the studio has the same or similar gear. Dancers should take all belongings into their classroom with them rather than leaving them unattended in the lobby or dressing areas.
If your dancer will be absent from a class, our teachers and administrative staff greatly appreciate you notifying our team via our MDU Absence Form. This form can easily be accessed at the bottom of the main page of our website or CLICK HERE to access now.
In the event of inclement weather, an email will be sent and a Facebook post made by 2:00pm if classes are cancelled (by 8:00am for morning classes). Please note that we do not necessarily follow school closings as roads are often cleared by the time studio classes begin. Any cancelled classes may be made up on your own time from our regular schedule of classes. In the event there is not a make up class available, a replacement option will be offered.
Our latest updates regarding COVID-19 can be found on the main page of our website. Simply visit mistysdance.com and click on the red bar at the top of the page for the most current communications.
