Miss Kylie and Miss Shayna will be visiting classes again this month to observe classrooms in action! They will be taking time away from their own classes during this special week to check in on other classrooms. Classroom Check-In Week focuses on curriculum, observing class progress, dress code and sharing ideas with instructors from inside the classroom in preparation for our Spring Recital.
Our annual Graded Level Conferences for students Level 1 and up in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz Technique will take place on Saturday, January 22nd. Specific times and teacher availability will be sent out in a separate email in the near future!
Conferences are an opportunity to talk one-on-one with teachers about your dancer's individual progress so far this year in preparation for Skills Testing. Both parents and dancers are encouraged to attend. Conferences usually last approximately 10 minutes per teacher. Skills Testing will take place in Graded Level Classes the weeks of February 1-12.
Please take a moment to make sure that your dancer is in proper dress code before coming to class. We want to make sure our classes stay looking their best all year long and reminders from both parents and teachers are vital to making that happen! Check out this blog post as a reminder on why Dress Code is so important: https://mistysdance.com/posts/11
We are bringing back our popular theme weeks for some added excitement during the long winter still ahead. January’s theme week is Crazy Hair Week: January 24-29. Get creative with your hair style or add some extra flair. Please be sure that hair is still secure and pulled away from your face so that you can fully participate in class.
We know many families are already looking ahead to summer for planning vacations and other activities. Our always popular Dance Camp (ages 7 and up) will be held Monday, August 8th-Friday, August 12th, 2022. More info on our full schedule of summer programming for all ages will be published in March!

Be sure to check out our Lost & Found for any items you may have left behind. Simply ask the front desk for their assistance, and they will direct you to it. All items remaining in the Lost & Found on the 15th of each month will be donated
As a reminder, be sure to label all of your dancer’s belongings with their name as everyone at the studio has the same or similar gear. Dancers should take all belongings into their classroom with them rather than leaving them unattended in the lobby or dressing areas.
If your dancer will be absent from a class, our teachers and administrative staff greatly appreciate you notifying our team via our MDU Absence Form. This form can easily be accessed at the bottom of the main page of our website or CLICK HERE to access now.
In the event of inclement weather, an email will be sent and a Facebook post made by 2:00pm if classes are canceled (by 8:00am for morning classes). Please note that we do not necessarily follow school closings as roads are often cleared by the time studio classes begin. Any canceled classes may be made up on your own time from our regular schedule of classes. In the event there is not a make up class available, a replacement option will be offered.
