February 11, 2022
Dear MDU Families,
Today the Onalaska and Holmen School Districts announced that due to a sharp decline in cases, they will no longer require the wearing of masks in their facilities as of Monday, February 14. We have noted the same sharp decline in cases in our programs and will be following suit. The updated policy for MDU will be effective Monday, February 21 as our studio is closed for Intersessional Break next week.
Every day that we can get where children can fully express themselves in the classroom and teachers can have full communication, including facial cues, we will celebrate! And, if there are days ahead where cases rise to a point where we have to revisit our mask policy, we will do so.
In meantime, all other risk-mitigating factors remain in place and parents are asked to keep their children home if they do not feel well and to keep up with other healthy habits such as good hand hygiene, hydration, nutrition, and sleep. Anyone who would still like to wear a mask to class for comfort is welcome to do so and plenty of masks will still be available at the front desk.
I want to thank our faculty, families, and students for their support over the past two years. Working together, we have kept our classrooms open continuously since June of 2020 and we are working on our return to the stage for Spring Recital! Now that’s some awesome teamwork!
Thank you for your support! With appreciation,

Please take a moment to make sure that your dancer is in proper dress code before coming to class. We want to make sure our classes stay looking their best all year long and reminders from both parents and teachers are vital to making that happen! Check out this blog post as a reminder on why Dress Code is so important:
If your dancer will be absent from a class, our teachers and administrative staff greatly appreciate you notifying our team via our MDU Absence Form. This form can easily be accessed at the bottom of the main page of our website or CLICK HERE to access now. Please note that this link should be used for non-COVID related absences (school function, vacation, etc.). See below for our COVID-19 Self Reporting link.
Our latest updates regarding COVID-19 can be found on the main page of our website. Simply visit mistysdance.com and click on the update link at the top of the page for the most current communications. Students who receive a positive test result should report the positive case to MDU via our COVID-19 Self Reporting Form.
In the event of inclement weather, an email will be sent and a Facebook post made by 2:00pm if classes are canceled (by 8:00am for morning classes). Please note that we do not necessarily follow school closings as roads are often cleared by the time studio classes begin. Any canceled classes may be made up on your own time from our regular schedule of classes. In the event there is not a make up class available, a replacement option will be offered.
Be sure to check out our Lost & Found for any items you may have left behind. Simply ask the front desk for their assistance, and they will direct you to it. All items remaining in the Lost & Found on the 15th of each month will be donated
As a reminder, be sure to label all of your dancer’s belongings with their name as everyone at the studio has the same or similar gear. Dancers should take all belongings into their classroom with them rather than leaving them unattended in the lobby or dressing areas.
