MDU has an awesome faculty who work their hearts out every week to create safe and fun classes and a “third place” outside of school and home where kids can thrive. Please join us in welcoming the following NEW teachers to our faculty this year as well as two that are returning after several years away:
Please also join us in welcoming two NEW members of our Sparkle Squad Team: Jane Slabik and Andrea Linder. These fantastic ladies help serve our families during our busiest class times!
Have you seen it? Earlier this week an Automatic Door Operator was installed to our main entrance. We love making regular facility improvements to better serve our families!
All MDU Dancers in 2nd Grade (Building Level) and up are welcome to join us to dance with MDU in the Oktoberfest Maple Leaf Parade on Saturday, October 1st.
DETAILS: Line up time and location details will be emailed to participants as soon as they are available. The parade starts at 10:00am.
Choreography will be taught in all jazz based classes throughout the month of September and reviewed upon lineup on parade day. No additional rehearsals!
ATTIRE: All dancers wear Red MDU T-shirts, solid black capris or leggings (no shorts), and comfortable tennis shoes/sneakers. Hair in a ponytail for girls. Red MDU T-shirts are available for purchase at the front desk.
Parent Volunteers who are walking along with our group also wear Red MDU T-shirts, jeans or black pants, and comfortable shoes.

NO REGULAR CLASSES will be held and the studio will be CLOSED Tuesday, September 27th - Sunday, October 2nd for our first Intersessional Break of this dance season. Please note that this break starts on Tuesday rather than Monday due to already having No Monday Classes on Labor Day! Intersessional Break weeks allow for teacher and administrative staff development as well as deep cleaning and/or facility improvements.
Coffee & Conversation was created in 2019 in partnership with Mayo Clinic Health System and other local sponsors to help area parents with a range of kid- and parenting-related health and wellness topics. Forums are held every other month during the school year, with new topics presented each time. Join Miss Shayna and experts from Mayo Clinic Health System for this FREE, virtual event open to the entire community.
September's Topic: Teen Vaping Crisis
Pre-register for the webinar to be able to participate in the Q & A portion at the end of the hour or tune in via Facebook Live from our main MDU page (Q & A participation not available via Facebook).
Adult Tap is back at MDU beginning September 12th! Our Adult Classes are a fun way to exercise, learn a new skill, and meet new friends in a low-pressure atmosphere.

Our Willow & Grace Boutique specializes in dancewear, dance shoes, lululemon and gifts. Stop in this month and SAVE on leotards, tights and more beginning on September 6th.
Did you know that MDU has student lockers available in both our girls and boys locker rooms? Locker rentals are available for $75/dance season. Lockers are a great way for your dancer to keep all of their dance gear at the studio, have some quick snacks on hand for between classes and store their belongings during class. If you are interested in renting a locker, click here to review the guidelines and fill out the request form.
If your dancer will be absent from a class, our teachers and administrative staff greatly appreciate you notifying our team via our MDU Absence Form. This form can easily be accessed at the bottom of the main page of our website or CLICK HERE to access now.
Missing a dance shoe, water bottle, or perhaps a ballet skirt? Be sure to check out our Lost & Found. Simply ask the front desk for their assistance, and they will direct you to it. All items remaining in the Lost & Found on the 15th of each month will be donated.
