Daddy Daughter Recital Dance FAQ

Q: What is the Daddy Daughter Dance?

A: The Daddy Daughter dance is a wonderful opportunity for Dad’s (and other father figures such as Grandfathers, Uncles, Brothers and Family Friends) to spend quality time with their dancer by sharing their the love of dance in a special memorable performance.  Together they will learn choreography that they will perform at our annual Spring Recital the weekend of May 15-17, 2020.

Q: How do I know what shows I’m performing in?

A: You can choose what shows you want to perform in.  You can dance in one show or all six.

Q: Who can perform in the Daddy Daughter Dance?

A The term “Dad” includes but is not limited to Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, or Male Role Model.

Q: I have 2 left feet and no rhythm at all.  Can I still participate?

A: Of course you can and you will be your dancer’s biggest hero for giving it a go!  Your daughter will enjoy helping you rehearse your steps at home.  You will most likely share a giggle or two. We also send out a Youtube link so you can practice at home.

Q: How old does my dancer have to be in order to participate?

A: Dancers must be Kindergarten age and up in order to participate.

Q: What is the cost to participate?

A: A $75 participation fee per family is due to cover (choreography with Miss Misty and rehearsal time).   Full payment is due prior to the first rehearsal.

Q: I can’t make all of the required rehearsals.  Can I still participate?

A: Attending rehearsals is important as everyone on stage relies on one another for spacing, music cues, and formations.  But, we realize families are busy so it’s ok if you can’t make all of the rehearsals. We send out Youtube links so you can practice at home.

Q: What am I required to wear?

A: For Rehearsals please wear anything comfortable so that you can get your groove on!   Attire for the performances are TBD.

Q: My wife doesn’t tell me anything. :)  How will I know what’s going on?

A: We will communicate with Daddy Daughter participants through email.  Participants are asked to check their email to keep well-informed of dates, schedules, times, choreography, etc.

Q: When are the Rehearsals?

A: Rehearsal Schedule will be posted at mistysdance.com.  Click the Recital tab.

Q: OK, I’m ready to show off my dance moves.  Where do I sign up?

A: Awesome!  Just log onto Mistysdance.com.  Click the Recital tab, scroll down to the Daddy Daughter portion and fill out the Recital Memories form by May 1, 2020.
