IT’S BACK: “COLOR WARS” THEME WEEK!

This month’s special theme week is back by popular demand - “Color Wars”. Mark your calendars for Monday, March 11th-Saturday, March 16th. Each day of the week has been assigned a different color to wear to class during this special week.

MONDAY = BLUE
TUESDAY = RED
WEDNESDAY = PINK
THURSDAY = PURPLE
SATURDAY = GREEN

The day/color that has the best participation gets bragging rights as the champions for the year! Please be sure that your dancer’s outfit still allows them to fully participate in class. Remember to wear a leotard underneath your colored clothing / no bare midriff.

PARENT OBSERVATION WEEK

Our Spring Parent Observation Week will be held Monday, March 18th - Saturday, March 23rd as previously published. You are invited into the classroom to watch your dancer’s ENTIRE CLASS during this special week.

You’ll get your first peek at recital choreography and see all the progress that has been made since you last visited the classroom in December. We ask that you observe quietly, silence your cell phone and that siblings are monitored and quiet during observation time. Feel free to video, take pictures throughout class. We are so looking forward to having you as our special guests!

EASTER BREAK - NO CLASSES

MDU will be closed and NO REGULAR CLASSES WILL BE HELD from Tuesday, March 26th - Monday, April 1st. Please note that this is a split week (Tuesday - Monday) rather than a full calendar week! We wish all of our MDU families a happy and blessed Easter season.

ANNUAL ROLLOVER MEMBERSHIP REMINDER

For your convenience, and to reserve a space for the following season, annual student membership fees (Children’s Classes $55, Graded Technique $65) are automatically renewed and charged to accounts on May 1, unless this withdrawal form is completed before that time.

Rollover membership allows us to plan appropriately for the correct number of sections for each age group, style, level, and teacher.

Class Registration for our 2024-25 dance season will begin online at 8am on Saturday, June 8th! Level placements and class schedules will be emailed out on Monday, June 3rd.

STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Congratulations to our most recent Students of the Month! Be sure to check out the communications screen in the lobby featuring our February Student of the Month recipients:

Grace Mathy
Tori Nickelatti
Emmerson Shore
Halle Schoh

Other Nominees Include: Lauren Dahl, Coreyna De Ruyter, Finley Fischer, Scarlet Gorder, Acadia Kashdan, Adeline Lawver, Kira Miller, Jessa Patty, DeNahla Roberson, Nora Stapleton, Sophia Stewart, Madilyn Striegel, Jocelyn Stuempert and Serenity Westerman. Keep up the great work, dancers!

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

In the event of inclement weather, an email will be sent to affected classes and Facebook/Instagram posts will be made by 2:00 pm if afternoon/evening classes are canceled (by 8:00 am for morning classes).

Please note that we do not necessarily follow school closings. It is possible that roads may be cleared by the time studio classes begin or that conditions worsen later in the day when school is in session but afternoon/evening travel is not advised. Any canceled classes may be made up on your own time from our regular schedule of classes. In the event there is not a make up class available, a replacement option will be offered.

ABSENCE REPORTING

If your dancer will be absent from a class, our teachers and administrative staff greatly appreciate you notifying our team via our MDU Absence Form. This form can easily be accessed at the bottom of the main page of our website or CLICK HERE to access now.

LOST & FOUND

Missing a dance shoe, water bottle, or perhaps a ballet skirt?  Be sure to check out our Lost & Found.  Simply ask the front desk for their assistance, and they will direct you to it.  All items remaining in the Lost & Found on the 15th of each month will be donated.

PRO TIP: Be sure to label all of your dancer’s belongings with their name as everyone at the studio has the same or similar gear. Dancers should take all belongings into their classroom with them rather than leaving them unattended in the lobby or dressing areas.
