Dance team training in the La Crosse area
Training around your school dance goals
Misty’s Dance Unlimited welcomes La Crosse area dancers interested in building skills for school dance teams. Families in Onalaska, Holmen, West Salem, and surrounding communities can talk with our team about training that fits their experience and school commitments. Start with your goals and the current class schedule rather than assuming one class meets every team’s requirements.
Bring the requirements from your school
If you are preparing for a school audition, bring the information your coach or school provides. Our existing team resources include G-E-T, or Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School in Galesville. Each school sets its own expectations and selects its own team. Studio training can support your preparation, but enrollment at MDU does not guarantee a place on a school team.
Discuss technique and placement
Talk with us about the areas you would like to develop, such as coordination, musicality, and performance confidence. Ballet, jazz, and hip hop may offer different opportunities to build your dance experience. Ask which current classes match your level and whether a placement conversation is needed before registering.
Consider a focused lesson
For a specific training question, explore our private lesson information. Share your goal and any school requirements when asking about a teacher and lesson time. A private lesson inquiry is also a chance to discuss how extra training would fit alongside your existing team practices.
Plan the season before adding a class
Compare school rehearsals, performances, travel, and homework with the studio calendar. Confirm the location for each MDU class; our Onalaska address is 923 12th Ave S, Suite 103, and Holmen class arrival details can be confirmed with our team. For training outside the school year, review summer dance options. If you are new to MDU, ask about a trial and explain that your interest is dance team preparation.
Dance Team Prep and Mini Dance Team
Our 2026–2027 guide describes Dance Team Prep as training with jazz and pom drills to build technique, precision, and confidence for high school dance team goals. Mini Dance Team introduces younger dancers to pom and team-style movement. These are different starting points, so check the current age groups and schedule before choosing.
