Daddy Daughter Dance Details

Calling all DADS: This year we are slowing things down with a heartwarming routine that truly captures our “Big Dreams Start Small” Spring Recital theme! Steven Curtis Chapman’s song “Cinderella” will take you (and our audience) on a journey with your daughter from childhood to her high school prom to her wedding day.

WHO: Dads (and other father figures such as grandpas, uncles and family friends) & Dancers in our Kidlets Level (Kindergarten) and up are eligible to participate in this optional performance opportunity.

WHAT: Learn choreography and perform a routine on stage during our Spring Recital: May 17-19, 2024

WHERE: Rehearsals to learn choreography are held at MDU. Perform on stage during our recitals at Viterbo University’s Fine Arts Center.

WHEN: See below for rehearsal schedule!

WHY: To share a fun experience with your dancer that will become a cherished memory for both of you!

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:

Can't make it to all of the rehearsals? No problem! We will send out practice videos after our first weekend of rehearsals so you can catch up or keep practicing on your own at home.

Friday, April 26 (Studio 2/3 at MDU)
ALL Participants: 5:30pm-7:00pm
*Senior Level Dancers may be asked to stay until 7:30pm

Saturday, April 27th (Studio 2/3 at MDU)
Show 1: 9:00-9:45 am
Show 2: 9:45-10:30 am
Show 3: 10:30-11:15 am
Show 4: 12:00-12:45 pm
Show 5: 12:45-1:30 pm

Saturday, May 11th (Studio 2/3 at MDU)

Performance Schedule:
Sign up to perform in one or all shows that your family is participating in. The choice is yours! The fee is the same whether you choose to participate in one show or all six!

ATTIRE:

Rehearsal Attire (ALL):
Anything comfortable to move in!

Performance Attire (DAUGHTERS):

• A plain white dress (click here for examples / inexpensive Amazon options if needed)
• Capezio Light Tan (LTN) tights (most likely already wearing with her class costume)
• Solid black leggings or bike shorts underneath
• Pink Leather Ballet Shoes for dancers in Kindergarten - 3rd grade (our “littles” section)
• Tan Jazz Shoes for dancers in 4th grade and up (our “middles” and “seniors” sections).
• Hair in a bun

Performance Attire (DADS): 

• A plain white long sleeved button down dress shirt
• Black dress pants
• Black Dress shoes

Participation Fee: 
$85/family (includes choreography and rehearsals fees)
