Choreography will be taught in all jazz based classes throughout the month of September and reviewed upon lineup on parade day. No additional rehearsals!

NO REGULAR CLASSES will be held and the studio will be CLOSED Tuesday, September 22nd - Saturday, September 26th for our first Intersessional Break of the dance season.
Please note that our Intersessional Break starts on Tuesday rather than Monday due to already having No Monday Classes on Labor Day!
If you need help with your class schedule or have account related questions throughout the year, our front desk and administrative teams are always happy to assist.
For your convenience, you can also access many helpful resources on our website such as our Fall Brochure & Programming Guide, Studio Policies, Calendar of Events, Required Dress Code and Monthly Newsletters. If you haven’t done so already, please take time to review these resources now to help guide you through the dance year.
Mark your calendars for December 16-19 for our lineup of Christmas Performances at Holmen High School’s Fine Arts Center. We will begin our run of shows with our Performing Groups Solo, Duet, Trio Showcase and Performing Groups Winter Showcase and finish off the week with our Christmas Social Performances!
All Christmas Social Performances (Children’s Classes) will be held on Saturday, December 19th! Each year, participating classes are selected and invited from each age group of our Children’s Classes. These classes were published in our Fall Programming Guide.
Additional details including Show Assignments will be published in our November Newsletter!
Now that we are several weeks into our season, dancers should have all of their dance gear and be in proper dress code for each class. In addition to proper dance attire, our MDU dress code includes having hair in a bun for dancers in Building Level (2nd Grade) and up and no jewelry.
For a reminder of the required dress code for each age group or level CLICK HERE!
Forgot your bun supplies? No worries! Pick up a MDU Bun Kit at the Front Desk! Each kit includes 2 hairbands and 6 bobby pins in a reusable MDU zippered bag for $5. Any dancer that comes to the front desk needing hair supplies to put their hair in a bun will be given a Bun Kit and your studio account will be charged $5.
Our MDU Bun Kits were created to help dancers remember to keep these basic supplies in their dance bag for future weeks. Additional supplies to help you create the perfect dance bun such as bun builders, hair nets and more are also available for purchase inside our Willow & Grace Boutique!
Please remind your dancer that dance bags and other personal belongings should be stored in lockers, the cubbies outside of Studio 4 or taken into classrooms with them. Bags and other belongings should not be left unattended on lobby chairs or benches so that seating is available for parents and dancers waiting for classes.
Our teachers and administrative team greatly appreciate it when you let us know if your dancer will be missing class due to illness or another event. You can report your dancer’s absence directly through your Studio Director portal!
1. Log in to your Studio Director account
2. Report an Absence
3. Select the Dates and Reason
Important: You can only report an absence before the class starts. If you're reporting an absence after class begins, please email Miss KP at kp@mistysdance.com.
You can also see your child’s attendance history online!
If you are ever missing an item, be sure to check our Studio Lost & Found as it tends to fill up quickly! All items remaining in the Lost & Found on the 15th of each month will be donated.
PRO TIP: Be sure to label all of your dancer’s belongings with their name as everyone at the studio has the same or similar gear. Dancers should take all belongings into their classroom with them rather than leaving them unattended in the lobby or dressing areas.
