CLASSROOM CHECK-INS

Our Studio Director, Miss Kylie, and other Senior Faculty Members including Miss Tiffany, Miss Elisabeth, Miss Shayna, Miss Kristina and Miss Cindy will be visiting classes this month to observe teachers and classrooms in action! Classroom Check-Ins focus on curriculum, observing class progress and sharing ideas with instructors from inside the classroom. 

PARENT PARTICIPATION WEEK

Get Ready!! One of the most memorable weeks of the year is right around the corner. Parents, mark your calendars for Parent Participation Week: October 12-16. This is your chance to experience first-hand what your kids are working on in classes, get to know their teachers and see just how much fun and learning happens in every class! 

If you're not able to attend, please feel free to invite another adult (grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle or close family friend) to your child's class so the experience can be shared. Please choose just one parent/adult to share this special one-on-one time in order to allow enough dancing space for everyone!

NEW ADULT TAP SESSION STARTING

Our next Adult Tap Session with Miss Shayna is beginning soon. Kick off your week by doing something for yourself, meeting new people and experiencing the rhythm and joy of tap! 

This 8-week session is a beginner to intermediate level class. No experience required.

• Mondays from 7:00-7:45 PM
• October 12 - December 7 (No class on November 23)

Bonus: This class has the opportunity to perform in our Christmas Social on Saturday, December 19. A minimum of 8 adult tappers will be needed to perform.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME CARNIVAL

Join us for our FREE Costume Carnival at MDU on Friday, October 23rd from 4:30-6:30pm. Carnival style games for kids, temporary tattoo station, craft station, dance party room and more.

This family friendly event is open and FREE to the entire community! Help us spread the word!

HALLOWEEN DRESS UP WEEK

Dancers are invited to wear their Halloween costume or a favorite past dance/recital costume to class October 26-30! Please be sure costumes still allow for plenty of movement and have no bare midriff. Costumes should be kid-friendly and not scary. No masks or toy weapons allowed.

BALLET LA CROSSE: Marushka & The Four Seasons

Mark your calendar for Ballet La Crosse’s upcoming performances of Marushka & The Four Seasons: October 24th & 25th at The Weber Center for the Performing Arts in La Crosse!

Marushka & The Four Seasons is a fairy tale ballet in 2 acts with music by Alexander Glazunov. In this traditional tale a young orphan girl and a young princess learn the meaning of kindness, honor, friendship and the true spirit of giving. Set against the dramatic passage of the 4 seasons, this lovely ballet appeals to all ages, leaving the audience encouraged and uplifted.

Tickets are available for purchase via The Weber Center Box Office.

ABSENCE REPORTING

Our teachers and administrative team greatly appreciate it when you let us know if your dancer will be missing class due to illness or another event. You can report your dancer’s absence directly through your Studio Director portal!

1. Log in to your Studio Director account 

2. Report an Absence 

• Click the three horizontal lines (☰) in the top corner of your screen to access the Menu.
• Go to ‘Actions’ > “View Attendance”
• Click “Report an Absence” next to the class your child will miss.

3. Select the Dates and Reason

• Check the box for each date your child will be absent.
• Select a reason from the dropdown (e.g., Illness, Family Event, Dance Team).
• If you need to provide more details, use the text box.
• Click “Save Absence.”

Important: You can only report an absence before the class starts. If you're reporting an absence after class begins, please email Miss KP at kp@mistysdance.com.

LOST & FOUND

If you are ever missing an item, be sure to check our Studio Lost & Found as it tends to fill up quickly! All items remaining in the Lost & Found on the 15th of each month will be donated.

PRO TIP: Be sure to label all of your dancer’s belongings with their name as everyone at the studio has the same or similar gear. Dancers should take all belongings into their classroom with them rather than leaving them unattended in the lobby or dressing areas.
