Our annual Graded Level Conferences for students Level 1 and up in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz Technique will take place on Saturday, January 25th from 9am-12pm. The majority of our instructors are available at this time and day. Individual teacher availability will be emailed to all families with Graded Level Students for teachers unavailable on January 25th.
Conferences are an opportunity to talk one-on-one with teachers about your dancer's individual progress so far this year in preparation for Skills Testing. No appointment necessary! Both parents and dancers are encouraged to attend. Conferences usually last approximately 10 minutes per teacher. Skills Testing will take place in Graded Level Classes the week of February 3-7.

Here at MDU, we believe in training our students to become leaders in their communities...including right here at the studio! Our Junior Faculty are made up of advanced dancers who are looking for opportunities to teach in the classroom. Their roles include subbing for an absent teacher, teaching private lessons at a reduced rate, and assisting the MDU faculty at events and performances. Please give these dancers a warm welcome when you see them in the classroom!
Congratulations to our January Students of the Month! These dancers have been nominated by their teachers for demonstrating SELFLESSNESS in the classroom. Check out the TV in the Lobby Communication Center featuring:
Other nominees include: Ellie Helgeson, Samantha Shugrue, Chiara Theisen, Melayah Azene, and Lara Heiderscheit.
In the event of inclement weather, and email will be sent and a Facebook post made by 2:00pm if classes are canceled (by 8:00am for morning classes). Please note that we do not necessarily follow school closings as roads are often cleared by the time studio classes begin. Any canceled classes may be made up on your own time from our regular schedule of classes. In the event there is not a make up class available, a replacement class will be scheduled.
As many of you know, Miss Sandy has been missing from her front desk post for the past few months while recovering from minor foot surgery. She wants to thank everyone for the sweet messages, gifts, well wishes, and prayers during her absence, and she is so blessed to be back with her MDU family! Make sure to welcome back Miss Sandy next time you stop by the front desk!
If your dancer will be absent from a class, our teachers and administrative staff greatly appreciate you notifying our team via our MDU Absence Form. This form can easily be accessed at the bottom of the main page of our website or CLICK HERE to access now.
