The Christmas Social is a fun and informal fundraising show to close out the first half of our dance season. This year, we are excited to return to Holmen High School’s Performing Arts Center in Holmen. All proceeds from this event benefit A Chance to Dance Foundation’s scholarship fund and Dancers Against Cancer!

Participating classes were selected and invited from each age group of our Children’s Classes. These classes were published in our Fall Programming Guide and are listed again below (by assigned show) for your convenience. 

We know that this is a busy time of year for families. If your dancer is not able to participate with their class for this performance, please let his/her teacher know as soon as possible for planning purposes.

TICKETS

All tickets are available for purchase via Dance Recital Ticketing, using the link listed below.

• All tickets are General Admission and $13.00 per person / per show. Dance Recital Ticketing’s service fee and sales tax will apply.
• All patrons, regardless of age, require a ticket. Children aged 0-2 years, sitting on a parent’s lap may purchase a Lap Ticket at a minimal fee. Only a limited number of lap tickets are available per show due to capacity restrictions.
• Please be sure to either save your e-ticket in an easily accessible place on your phone or print a paper copy. This will help for a speedy admission process.
• Dancers performing do not require a ticket for the show they are performing in as they will remain backstage throughout the entire performance.

COSTUMING

Christmas Social costuming consists of clothing pieces and accessories you most likely already have at home or that are of minimal additional cost to purchase.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

• Arrival Time: All dancers should arrive backstage 30 minutes prior to the start of their show for check in and extra rehearsal time with their instructor. Signs will be posted and staff members will be on hand to direct dancers to this area. Younger dancers will be escorted backstage to find their instructor by our Student Leadership members.
• Backstage Area: Please note that our backstage area is reserved for dancers and MDU staff only. Dancers remain backstage with their classmates and instructor for the entire show. No parents or visitors are allowed backstage in order to maintain an organized and secure environment both before and during the show. For the safety of your children, all MDU staff members are background checked and YPAD™ certified!
• Doors Open for audience admission 30 minutes prior to the start of each show.
• Social Time After the Show: We encourage families to stay and socialize with each other in the FAC Lobby area after the show if your schedule permits. We will also have our Photo Station set up to capture some memories with your dancer and their fan club!
• Videotaping: This performance will not be professionally videotaped, therefore you are welcome to video your dancer during the Show. Flash photography, however, is not permitted during the show as it is distracting to performers.

FLOWERS

Sunshine Floral of La Crosse will be making pre-order bouquets available for purchase as an added convenience for families during this busy time of year. All bouquets will be delivered to our venue for you! All orders must be placed by Friday, December 5th at 12 noon.

2 Bouquet Sizes to Choose from: $20 Jingle Bouquet or $30 Snowflake Bouquet

3. Choose "Christmas Performances - Floral Orders 2025" from options listed. 
4. Note the DAY options for when your dancer will be performing.
5. Select the Bouquet Size you would like to order under the appropriate show day and complete checkout.

Bouquets will be available for pick up once you enter Holmen High School Fine Arts Center’s lobby. Pre-orders only. Additional bouquets will not be available on site.

GIVING BACK

Not only is the Christmas Social a great performance experience for your dancer, it’s also a chance to celebrate the season of giving. ALL PROCEEDS from this event benefit A Chance to Dance Foundation’s scholarship fund and (new this year) Dancers Against Cancer.
