MAYO CLINIC HEALTH SYSTEM EVENT

Our FREE, in-person events with Mayo Clinic Health System are back! Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 20,  from 10-11 am right here at MDU. Enjoy free coffee and breakfast treats while you learn.

Mental Health issues in adolescents are on the rise, especially with the increased use of technology and social media. Within the last decade, the number of students who reported feeling sad and hopeless every day has increased by over 10%. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning of an accelerating mental health crisis among adolescents, with more than 4 in 10 teens reporting that they feel “persistently sad or hopeless” and 1 in 5 saying they have contemplated suicide.

Together, parents and youth are invited to learn more about managing depression, anger, and anxiety. Join Janice Schreier, a Mayo Clinic Health System clinical therapist, as she presents a combination of life skills that, when practiced together, have a therapeutic impact on youth mental health.

To participate in the in-person event, register at mayoclinichealthsystem.org/classes-and-events.

LOST & FOUND

Missing a dance shoe, water bottle, or perhaps a ballet skirt?  Be sure to check out our Lost & Found.  Simply ask the front desk for their assistance, and they will direct you to it.  All items remaining in the Lost & Found on the 15th of each month will be donated.

PRO TIP: Be sure to label all of your dancer’s belongings with their name as everyone at the studio has the same or similar gear. Dancers should take all belongings into their classroom with them rather than leaving them unattended in the lobby or dressing areas.
