It’s the perfect time for your currently enrolled dancer to explore new styles, expand their skills, and perform another time in our Spring Recital, happening the weekend of May 16-18, 2025. And, the November tuition is on us!
Here’s What’s Happening:
How to Participate:
Review the list of available classes, HERE and fill out the google form letting us know which class or classes your child is interested in trying this month. Spaces are limited—book your class soon to ensure your spot!
Let’s make November a month of growth, gratitude, and unforgettable dance adventures!
Our team puts a great deal of time, thought and consideration into our Costume Selections each year. It may seem like a simple process, but finding costumes that are both made well and are style appropriate is our top priority. We want every dancer to feel confident on stage which is why it takes time to reveal our final costume selections for the upcoming Recital Season. As members of Youth Protection Association for Dance we hold high standards for keeping costuming appropriate for age level and theme.
Sizing for Spring Recital Costumes will take place in classes November 6-18. If your dancer is absent from class during this week, please stop by the Front Desk the following week to have Miss Janet or Miss Kari take their measurements or email Miss Tiffany, our Costume Coordinator, at tiffany.mistysdance@gmail.com.
Spring Recital Costume Fees will be charged to accounts on November 15th. Fees will be viewable on your account by 5pm on Friday, November 8th.
Looking Ahead:
The Christmas Social is a fun and informal fundraising show to close out the first half of our dance season. This year, we have an exciting NEW VENUE for our Christmas Social performances. Shows will be held at Holmen High School’s NEW Performing Arts Center in Holmen.. All proceeds from this event benefit A Chance to Dance Foundation’s scholarship fund.
Participating classes were selected and invited from each age group of our Children’s Classes. These classes were published in our Fall Programming Guide and are listed again below (by assigned show) for your convenience.
Choreography will be starting in these classes soon. We know that this is a busy time of year for families. If your dancer is not able to participate with their class this year, please let his/her teacher know as soon as possible for planning purposes.
Participating classes will receive an additional email on November 15th with more details including costuming, ticket sales information and more about our new venue.
SHOW 1: Tuesday, December 17th @ 6:00pm
SHOW 2: Wednesday, December 18th @ 6:00pm
SHOW 3: Thursday, December 19th @ 6:00pm
No Regular Classes will be held Monday, November 25 - Saturday, November 30 for our scheduled Thanksgiving Break. Happy Thanksgiving from MDU!
Mark your calendar for our first Parent Observation Week of the year! Parent Observation Week will be held Friday, December 6th - Thursday, December 12th. This week is also our final regular class week of 2024.
You are invited into the classroom to watch your dancer’s ENTIRE CLASS during this special week. Sit back, relax and enjoy watching your child do what they LOVE! We ask that you observe quietly, silence your cell phone and that siblings are monitored and quiet during observation time. Feel free to video, take pictures or even invite grandma and grandpa!
Congratulations to our October Students of the Month! Check out the TV in the Lobby Communications Center which will soon be featuring:
Other nominees include: Kaitlyn Bell, Bryanna Brush, Grant Crammond, Everly Dahl, Gigi Hansen, Kaydence Johnson, Sonora Leece, Kendyll Linder, Elsie Peterson, Scout Renaud, Brigit Rutten, Josephine Thatcher, Jada Tomesh, Kinsley Vergin and Nora Wise. Keep up the great work!
In the event of inclement weather, an email will be sent and Facebook/Instagram posts will be made by 2:00 pm if afternoon/evening classes are canceled (by 8:00 am for morning classes).
Please note that we do not necessarily follow school closings. It is possible that roads may be cleared by the time studio classes begin or that conditions worsen later in the day when school is in session but afternoon/evening travel is not advised. Any canceled classes may be made up on your own time from our regular schedule of classes. In the event there is not a make up class available, a replacement option will be offered.
If your dancer will be absent from a class, our teachers and administrative staff greatly appreciate you notifying our team via our MDU Absence Form. This form can easily be accessed at the bottom of the main page of our website or CLICK HERE to access now.
If you are ever missing an item, be sure to check our Studio Lost & Found as it tends to fill up quickly! All items remaining in the Lost & Found on the 15th of each month will be donated.
PRO TIP: Be sure to label all of your dancer’s belongings with their name as everyone at the studio has the same or similar gear. Dancers should take all belongings into their classroom with them rather than leaving them unattended in the lobby or dressing areas.
